Technical control, Joensuu 2024

Here are some practical information regarding technical control in the Joensuu FIM Snowcross World Championship and European championship event in the coming weekend.

Technical control will be held next to the paddock area and there will be additional information on site. The control will be open in the Friday evening from 17.00-20.00 local time and on Saturday morning from 07.00-10.00 local time. Please be on time to avoid long lines and waiting times.

The technical control will consist of the noise test, safety checks and technical scrutineering of the snowmobiles and the safety equipment according to the FIM and FIM Europe Snowcross rules. We will mark all the snowmobiles and the safety equipment as they pass the scrutineering. Rules are available on the FIM and FIM -europe websites.

Please make sure that your helmet and safety equipment will meet the standards written in the rules. Please remember to remove all cameras and camera brackets from the helmets. The FIM rule will not allow any additional brackets attached to the helmets during the event. Make sure that your kill switch is working and in good condition including the line attached to the rider.

Also please go through the fuel regulations from the FIM Snowcross rules for 2024 and use only fuels that are according to the rules. Remember that the leaded fuels are always forbidden.

It is important to have the right number plates, numbers and background colors already on the snowmobiles when entering the technical control.  You will receive your technical control form when you make your entry to the event in the race office. Please fill out the technical control form and bring the form with you to the technical control. The form must be presented before you can enter the technical control.
